Parsons Consulting Engineers provided structural design services for the extension of a residential bungalow, including the removal of the existing garage and the addition of new living spaces with sloped roofs and skylights. The project involved designing timber-framed load-bearing walls, assessing the re-use of existing foundations, and specifying steel beams where structural walls were removed. Special attention was given to the safe inclusion of a log burner in a compact snug. The scope included site inspection, foundation design, structural assessments, and coordination with architectural layouts for efficient and safe implementation.
